VPMIA/VBCOA Code Committee Meeting
A meeting has been scheduled for August 18th to discuss
VPMIA/VBCOA positions on the 2008 Final Action public
comments being held in Minneapolis in September. The meeting
will be held at 116 West Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia
24401. It is our understanding that the monograph will be
posted in electronic form sometime this week on ICC's
website. Unfortunately, the hard copy version may not be
ready until after our scheduled meeting. So, please download
the monograph as soon as possible and review it's contents
prior to the meeting. There will be a lot of material to
cover in a small amount of time, and we have every intention
of completing our task in one meeting, so please come
prepared.

CALL FOR INSTRUCTORS!
DHCD
is in need of additional instructors to assist with the presentation of the 3
day Mechanical Module. This course is the geared towards the new inspector/plan
reviewer. It uses the task based hands on approach to mechanical inspections
and plan reviews. The new 2003 version (more than 300 slides) of the training
presentation is available on CD and in print and can be sent directly to you.
This presentation has been used successfully for the last 3 offerings of this
module since VA adopted the 03 codes. It is structured for 1 day IMC, 1 day IFGC,
including Chapter 24 IRC and 1 day IRC mechanical. The next offering is
scheduled for September 19-21, 2006 in Southwest VA. If you might be able to
do any of the 3 days, any of the specific topics, all 3 days, or would like to
consider other future courses, please inquire! If you have not been involved in
DHCD training before please ask about the “Train the Trainer” program.
