Training Opportunity

The 2018 Code Change Training
The 2018 Code Change training self-paced modules available on the Learning Center starting July 6.  In addition to the live virtual classroom schedule posted on the VBCA Online Registration System, individuals may now take advantage of self-paced online training provided through the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC).  Online programs are available on demand at any time and are offered as standalone wa presentations based on the VBCA classroom curriculum.  Code officials are available on demand at any time and are offered as standalone presentations based on the VBCA classroom curriculum.  Code officials looking for flexibility in when and where they complete code change training will find this delivery method convenient yet still comprehensive.  For those wanting to use the self-paced option, it is recommended to establish or access your Learning Center account ahead of time to ensure that there are no login issues.  It is important to note that due to the high volume of requests during this time responses to password reset requests and login assistance may take up to two-business days.  To ensure that the training attendance information is successfully reflected in your DHCD training records, confirm that names and emails match exactly on both the Online Registration System and Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COLVC) accounts.  We suggest visiting our webpage https://www.dhcd.virginia.gov/vbca-online-training prior to logging in to the COVLC for additional information and tips on establishing or accessing your COLVC account.  For additional information on code training visit https://www.dhcd.virginia.gov/code-change-training.  Contact the VA Building Code Academy at VBCA@dhcd.virginia.gov with questions or for assistance.
